Brace yourself for an unparalleled experience as we uncover the most intriguing happenings within the realm of Rivian, leaving no stone unturned.

News

The most significant and thrilling news of the week was initially reported on Sunday night when a few fortunate Rivian owners were able to utilize Tesla Charging networks for charging. The official announcement from Rivian was made on Monday, granting Rivian Owners access to over 15,000 extra EV charging stations across the country.

Nationwide charging

With this exciting news Rivian also announced that free adapters for CCS to NACS would be shipping out in April. Rivian Adventure Network (RAN) will be opening up their 400 charging stations by end of the year.

Some people in the Rivian community have been ordering the A2ZEV charger (Link) if they didn’t want to wait until their new adapters shipped from Rivian. Both Tesla and Rivian recommended not using unaffiliated products and I am not endorsing this. Use at your own risk.

The long awaited return of the powered tonneau cover is upon us. Currently Rivian indicates that select configurations are available for power tonneau cover for 500 USD. Also noted on Rivian forum this week that owners who have previously reported non-operating tonneau covers will be replaced by Rivian.

On Friday Rivian announced they were temporarily pausing custom confirugations due to upcoming re-tooling. During their latest earnings CEO RJ Scrange and team indicated this would be occurring in the 2nd quarter of 2024 which starts next week. They previously announced that upon return from shutdown on April 28th that they would be return and only be operating two shifts. They are anticipating that this retooling will help increase production capacity by thirty percent.
